A Note from Ben
Posted on May 06 2019
Exciting changes are coming to Redstart Birding. If you haven't heard about them yet, keep reading this note from Ben to learn about his new position within the optics world.
For 19 years I've worked in sports optics and bird watching, which has presented me with one amazing opportunity after another. I've valued the travel, friendships, and most of all, the personal development it's afforded me.
I'm thrilled to announce that in late May I'll begin a new job working with Swarovski Optik as a market/business development manager, helping them grow their business outside of bird watching and hunting. It's an exciting position with a company I have long admired. Taking a hiatus from bird watching as a career component is the bittersweet element of this transition.
I'll really miss seeing all the familiar faces and wonderful personalities in birding that I've gotten to know. I'll especially miss the crew at Bird Watcher's Digest and Redstart Birding. The management of Redstart Birding will be in good hands with my friend Raymond VanBuskirk. He knows birds, birding, and binoculars and is one of my favorite human beings.
On another related note, it's been a Rhode Island kind of spring around here. Not only is RI home to Swarovski's North American HQ, but it will also be the home of my oldest daughter, Nya, who will be attending Brown University as a freshman next year. Looking forward to dropping in on her on occasion!
Even though 2019 has given Redstart some major transitions, our team is still 100% dedicated to giving you the best birding optics shopping experience available. We're always happy to help you find the bird watching gear you need! Feel free to contact us with your optics questions at 833-262-1568, or at firstname.lastname@example.org.
